Trip Profile: This Laos and Cambodia Cycling Tours with Vietnam Adventure Cycling tour combines the cultural interests of the two countries, starting from the south of Laos (Pakse) to Cambodia World Heritage Site of Angkor Complex. From Pakse we cycle follow the Mekong River to Cambodia.We will cycle through the rural of Laos with nice scenery of the 4 Thousand Islands. before crossing the border to Cambodia by bike and the visa is issued at the border.In Cambodia side, we continue to cycle along the Mekong River to see the endangered Irrawady Dolphines before heading to Angkor.

For this trip you can start at luangprabang, northern of Laos if you have plenty time.

Road Surface  Mostly rural,small, coastline ,rolling hill, undulating .follows asphalt roads, dirt road passing the countryside and the rice field. The back road along the river and village is small but good enough for cycling, less busy. A little bit sandy. Biking guide Experienced English speaking-biking guides with enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Biking guides are first aid qualified and can maintain bikes. Day 1: PAKSE -WELCOME TO LAOS
Vietnam Adventure Cycling Tour guide will be at the airport for pick you up and transfer to hotel  for checking in. free and leisure . in the afternoon we will spend a bit time for bike fitting before welcome dinner. Our guide will briefing the general information about the trip journey .overnight in Pakse. Activities :

  • Bike fitting

DAY 2: PAKSE -WAT PHU - CHAMPASAK
After breakfast, cycle along the Mekong river. Have a water stop the first 20km to enjoy the fresh fruit, snack and drink. Then we follow the Mekong river and cross the ferry and continue cycling leaving the Mekong river on the backdrop. There, appear the Wat Phou temple on the foot of the Champasak hill. It is a 12th century temple built by a great Khmer King Jayavarman VII. Visit the temple 45 minutes to 1 hour. Afternoon, cycle back to champasak to our beautiful hotel right on the river bank for overnight. Dinner and overnight in champasak. Activities :

DAY 3: CHAMPASAK – DON KHONG
After the breakfast we take local ferry to don Dean from our hotel cycle along the dirtroad in the island to see the local living life before take another ferry back to the mainland cycle along the smooth road reach the main Junction we will transfer to lunch after lunch we will cycle in the another island call Don Khong, border with Cambodia just by the river. dinner and overnight in Don Khong . Activities :

DAY 4: DON KHONG - FOUR THOUSAND ISLAND - DON KHON
the easy day will start from the hotel,cycle to visit 4 Thousand Islands, situated on the Mekong River, known as Si Phan Don in Laos. we cycle follow the dirt road along the river crossing the local small ferry from this island to another and another get deeper and deeper to village to experience and know how is 4 thousand island. Enjoy lunch at the 4 Thousand Island. And We would love to recommend you all to keep the empty bottle of water or can in the rubbish bin to keep the environment clean.after lunch we will continue paddle on the dirtroad along the river bank follow the french railway (1893- 1949)to old french Port. back to our hotel in Don khon for overnight Activities :

DAY 5: DON KHON- BORDER CROSSING- STUNG TRENG(CAMBODIA )
After breakfast, we will cycle from the hotel along the Mekong river ,the man fishing ,child go to school, housewife going to market or the daily activity of the local people along the Mekong river will make your day special and this is the "kodak Moment" as well ,Time for you to have a lot of beautiful photo. And then we will take boat trip to get back to the mainland and it will stop at fish market, where there are many middle man waiting for the fish from the local people. the bike will be ready and we will start to cycle from there to the wonderful water fall,it call Khone Phapheng Falls at the border with Cambodia. Immigration process after we spend half hours to visit the water Fall. Say Goodbye to our Laos Team. You can get Cambodian visa at the border at USD20 per person. Please take 1 passport size photo for the visa. Have Lunch and transfer to Stung Treng for Dinner and overnight in Stung Treng. Activities :

DAY 6: STUNG TRENG- IRRAWADY DOLPHIN- KRATIE
Breakfast in Stung Treng. Cycle along the Mekong River on dirt road for 30km. We transfer on the National Road as we cannot avoid this part. Cycle the last 45km on the back road along the Mekong River. The road is sealed but small with less traffic than the National road. It is also interesting to see the villages and scenery along the Mekong. We stop halfway to take the boat trip at Prek Kampi to spot for endangered fresh water Irraway Dolphin. If you miss the chance to see the Dolphin at 4 Thousand Islands, you will be able to see at Prek Kampi for sure. After the boat trip, cycle the last 23km to Kratie. Dinner and overnight in Kratie. Activities :

DAY 7: KRATIE –CHLONG-KAMPONG CHAM
Breakfast at the hotel. We transfer to Chlong. Then start cycling along Mekong River. This back road is nice for cycling to see close to real life experience of the local people who earn their living along the Mekong River. Most of them earn their living by farming and fishing. We cycle pass a few Muslim community. Then we cross the Mekong River by ferry at Stung Trong. Continue to cycle another 33km on some dirt road and sealed road to Kampong Cham. Dinner and overnight in Kampong Cham. Activities :

DAY 8: KAMPONG CHAM- KAMPHONG THOM
Breakfast at the hotel. Kampong Cham is one of the biggest province produce fruits and rubber. The land and Mekong River provides rich of resource for farming. We cycle 50km before lunch. After lunch we cycle pass some of the rubber plantation which was initiated by French in 19th century. First they brought the rubber plant from South America but could not survive in Cambodia weather and land. Later on they brought the rubber plant from Malaysia and could survive. After lunch, we cycle the last 28km to Kampong Thmor and transfer for 45 minutes on National Road No.6 to avoid busy traffic to Kampong Thom. Dinner and overnight in Kampong Thom.. Activities :

DAY 9: KAMPONG THOM-SAMBOR PREI KUK-SIEMREAP
Breakfast at the hotel. We cycle to visit Sambor Prei Kuk pre-Angkorian temple complex. Most of the temples in this complex built by brick between (615-650). Sambor Prei Kuk was served as the capital before Angkor period during the Chenla Kingdom. After visiting, we cycle to Prek Pros Bridge for lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, we transfer 2 hours to Siem Reap. Check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Siem Reap. . Activities :

Day 10: SIEM REAP- ANGKOR COMPLEX
On your first morning in Siem Reap we head out to begin our cycle exploration of these incredible temples. Today we will focus on the Small Circuit which features temple greats such as: the pyramid of Takeo, the jungle-clad Ta Prohm, made famous by the Hollywood blockbuster \'Tomb Raider\'; Sras Srang, known as the King\'s bathing pond; and the impressive Royal City of Angkor Thom. You will also bike to other important sites in this immense walled city. After lunch it is time to cycle to the majestic Angkor Wat, the world\'s largest religious building. After returning to the hotel you are free at leisure to experience Siem Reap\'s nightlife which includes many fine restaurants and lively bars.. Activities:

Day 11: SIEMREAP- BANTEAY SREI- SIEMREAP
This morning you bike north towards Banteay Srei. This cycle ride is a real delight and your first introduction to the wonderful Cambodian countryside and its friendly villagers. On route we will stop off at a couple of villages to get a closer look at the wooden stilted homes and everyday life. One thing you will notice for sure is large black pots in people\'s gardens containing a thick light brown bubbling mixture - this area is famed for its sugar palm tree sweets, sure to give any cyclist a much needed energy boost! On arrival at Banteay Srei you will be struck by its delicate beauty. It is an elaborately decorated temple, embellished with floral motifs and scenes from the Ramayana, all carved from pink sandstone. You will have lunch at a local restaurant, after which you cycle back towards Siem Reap and depending on the time explore some other temples on the way. This evening you will enjoy dinner and a mesmerizing Apsara dance performance. Activities:

Day 12: SIEMREAP-DEPARTURE
