Upon arrival in Pakse, your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Freshen up at the hotel before taking a short tour of the town. Pakse is the most important town in southern Laos and is home to a large Vietnamese community. It’s near to many of the attractions of this area and boasts delightful Chinese and colonial architecture, as well as a local market selling a variety of different foods.
We’ll drive today to the Bolaven Plateau. Take a stop at the Tad Lo area to see its three different waterfalls: Tad Hang, Tad Lo and Tad Suong. Continue to the twin waterfalls of Tad Yuang and Tad Fane, which pour down into a gorge in the dense jungle. Both tea and coffee are produced in this region, and we’ll visit a plantation here; one of many cultivated between 1000-1300 meters above sea level by the families who inhabit the 250 villages of the area.
